While we offer an outstanding collection of stock art in a wide variety of sizes and shapes in our canvas art shop, the most fun way to get the most individual wall hanging is to make your own canvas. Don't be afraid or worry about not being an artist or not being a photographer. Your picture is meant to please you, and you'll be surprised at just how putting your own photo on canvas gives it an air of art and sophistication that will also wow others.
You don't have to be a professional photographer to have captured a special moment or person in a way that could never be duplicated. Your baby's first smile, that moment that three generations got together for the only time your crazy cat pouncing on something only he understands a spread of fall leaves that just happened to arrange themselves in that particularly pleasing fashion. Look at old photos with a new eye. Or go out and take new ones. With digital cameras these days, it's almost as easy to take a hundred pictures as to take one. Put your two year old in a pile of leaves; show her how to throw them in the air. Then step back and snap away as fast as you can for as long as you can. Sure, many of them will be lousy shots blurry or too far away, or the leaves are blocking her adorable face. But with digital you're not stuck with those bad ones forever. Just delete. But odds are, somewhere in that series will be one or three that leap out and demand to be printed and displayed. Pick your favorite and make your own canvas or series of canvases. Or arrange several pictures into a montage and have the ensemble made into a single picture as a centerpiece in your favorite room.
Now that you've chosen the photograph that you want to have made into a canvas, have you thought about customizing it? We have several different custom effects available to enrich your canvas. To highlight a particular element add our splash of colour effect. Make an instant antique heirloom by turning your family photograph into a special sepia-toned canvas. Or for the more avant-garde, let us apply a Warhol or Lichtenstein effect to it and turn your photograph into a painting. That's the real fun of do it yourself canvas making, you get to not just depict reality, but dress it up however you like.
