The original Keep Calm and Carry On print was first developed in 1939 during World War II to help boost morale. The poster, however, was meant as a last resort and as a result was never shown to the general public. In 2000, Barter Books owners rediscovered one of the original posters and since the simple five word slogan has risen to fame.
